Ο Πέτρος Τομάρας είναι καθηγητής Μάρκετινγκ στο Πανεπιστήμιο Δυτικής Αττικής στο Τμήμα Διοίκησης Επιχειρήσεων. Οι σπουδές του περιλαμβάνουν πτυχίο στα Οικονομικά από το Εθνικό και Καποδιστριακό Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών (1978), Μεταπτυχιακό στη Διοίκηση Επιχειρήσεων (MBA) από το Πανεπιστήμιο Roosevelt, ΗΠΑ (1981) και το Διδακτορικό του στην Κοινωνική Ψυχολογία από το Πάντειο Πανεπιστήμιο (2003). Έχει ακαδημαϊκό και επαγγελματικό υπόβαθρο και προηγούμενη εμπειρία σε επιτελικές θέσεις σε επιχειρήσεις και οργανισμούς του ιδιωτικού και του δημόσιου τομέα. Στο παρελθόν διετέλεσε μέλος του Συμβουλίου ΤΕΙ Αθηνών, Διοικητής της 5ης Υγειονομικής Περιφέρειας Θεσσαλίας και Στερεάς Ελλάδας και Διοικητής και Αντιπρόεδρος κύριων Ελληνικών Νοσοκομείων (Άγιος Σάββας, ΠΓΝ Τρίπολης, ΓΝ Καλαμάτας). Είναι συγγραφέας πέντε βιβλίων Μάρκετινγκ και συνσυγγραφέας σε δύο ακόμη. Τα κύρια ερευνητικά του ενδιαφέροντα είναι στους τομείς του Μάρκετινγκ και της Έρευνας Μάρκετινγκ. Τα άρθρα του έχουν δημοσιευτεί στο Procedia - Social and Behavioral Sciences - Elsevier, στο Journal of Business Ethics, σε πολλά διεθνή συνέδρια και σε πολλά ελληνικά επιστημονικά περιοδικά.

He has an academic and professional background and previous experience in executive positions in companies and organizations in the private and public sector. Previously he was a member of the Council of TEI of Athens, Governor of the 5th Health District of Thessaly and Central Greece and Manager and Vice President of major Greek Hospitals (Agios Savvas, Panarcadian General Hospital of Tripoli, General Hospital of Kalamata). He is the author of four Marketing books and co-author of two more. His main research interests are in the fields of Marketing and Marketing Research.
